Concrete, in it's natural unsealed state, is porous and prone to staining. We have employed several strategies to combat this problem. The first step begins with the concrete mix. By adding water conditioners to our mix formulation, the capillary structure of the concrete itself is transformed resulting in a naturally more stain resistant slab. Once the slabs have cured, they are diamoned honed and sealed with either a penetrating sealer or an aliphatic urethane. The result is a viable, stain resistant countertop surface.
